Emerging event industry trends and predictions
The events industry is always adapting and changing to create events that will inspire and satisfy guests. With 2024 now well underway, let’s take a look at some of the upcoming industry trends and predictions.
Hybrid events are definitely still going strong. Blending virtual and in person events helps to broaden your audience options, optimises content distribution and adds more interactivity opportunities. Hybrid events also helps with more networking opportunities as guests can interact both online and in person.
Sustainability will be at the forefront of most Event Managers minds. You can focus on reducing your events environmental footprint via thoughtful venues, responsible and local vendors, minimising waste and using more eco friendly exhibition items, like merch using recycled materials, or swapping out single use booths for LED screen.
Another trend will be experimental events increasing in popularity. Event Managers can try these events for maximum impact that will have guests talking about them for days after. Ideas could include Escape Rooms, VR demos and interactive elements. For virtual events you could even create 360 experiences or chat rooms rather than the usual basic text box.
An emerging trend we are also seeing is events that are authentic and create meaningful connections. People want to hear from people and events that nurture creating deeper networking connections and authentic passions and values will gain a more positive outcome.
We also predict that wellbeing will continue being a large aspect of events. Creating wellbeing breaks and relaxation zones will enhance your event and your attendees experience.
As events continue to adapt and attendees expect more, Event Professionals will need to keep on trend and make sure they create experiences that keep guests safe, happy and satisfied. What trends do you think you’ll start using?
